On May 11, the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli performed with a concert program within the framework of the International Music Festival “Kharibulbul” in Shusha.
According to Day.Azthe concert program was presented in the Mehmandarovs’ estate complex, the opening of which, after restoration work carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, took place two days ago.
The performance of the orchestra was especially significant because the representative of the Mehmandarov family, laureate of international competitions, conductor Mustafa Mehmandarov conducted the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra. Noting that he feels a sense of pride from being on the land of his ancestors, the conductor, sharing his impressions, said: “As you know, a grandiose event is being held in Shusha these days. I am very happy that I am a participant in such an event. I confess, never I did not think that I would ever be able to give a concert in Shusha. I enjoyed the concert, where I performed with the team of the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, of which I am the conductor.”
“I express my deep gratitude to our President for the repair and restoration of the estate at the highest level. All work was done with great taste and elegance. I am sure that the estate complex will continue to be open to guests and grandiose events will be held here. At the same time, it is significant and that this monument of architecture will be passed on to future generations.”
The concert featured “Arazbary” by Uzeira Hajibeyli, string symphony “Pamyati Nizami” by Fikret Amirova, “Lyric Dance” by Niyazi, “Lullaby” by Tofika Kulieva, fragments from the operetta “Arshin mal alan” by Uzeira Hajibeyli and folk song “Yellow Glow”.
The audience greeted the concert program warmly and with great interest.
