The Xunta has announced that this Monday will be held in A Corua one emergency drill caused by a forest fire that affects homes whether Elvia Parish. be from 8.00 am of this Monday, May 15, in the fens placewhere various intervention groups will meet to test their coordination in the event of a real situation.
Firefighting services from the Department of Rural Affairs and the Intervention Logistic Support Group (GALI) of the Galician Emergency Agency (Axega) will travel to the place. Specifically, three technicians, five agents, five brigades, five motor pumps, the prevention, firefighting and rescue services (Speis) of the municipality of A Corua and the provincial fire and rescue consortium of A Corua, and two ambulances from the Red Cross.
Regarding logistical and security support, the collaboration of security forces and bodies is expected, such as the Autonomous Police, the National Police, the Local Police of A Corua and Arteixo and the Civil Guard, in addition to the services municipal authorities and groups of Civil Protection volunteers from these two municipalities and the GALI from Axega.
According to the Ministry of the Presidency, Xustiza e Deportes, the exercise will test the communication and information systems for the population, the activation procedures of the municipal action plans and, above all, will allow testing the tasks assigned to the different operational groups and groups of control. In addition, it will also allow evaluating the effectiveness of theSpecial Civil Protection Plan for emergencies due to forest fires in Galicia (Peifoga) and its interaction with the Prevention and Defense Plan against Forest Fires in Galicia (Pladiga).
