The investigation department in Nyagan opened a criminal case on the use of violence against police officers (part 1 of article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to the press service of the Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) for the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (KhMAO), three prisoners in the temporary detention center beat the police.
According to preliminary data, in the afternoon of October 13, the inmates refused to return to their cell after a walk in the courtyard of the isolation ward. “Using an insignificant reason – the failure of the staff of the institution to comply with the request of one of the prisoners to be placed in a particular cell – they resisted, accompanying their actions with insults, threats of violence and hitting police officers,” the ICR said.
To suppress illegal behavior, physical force and special equipment were used against them. Now investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
