A dangerous scam: alert if you receive this message

by time news

Lately, there are situations of fraud messages through SMS and WhatsApp.

Fraudulent phishing-type actions continue and cybercriminals are increasingly perfecting their method to impersonate a reliable company or entity such as the Public State Employment Service (SEPE).

It is a fraud that is generally committed through email, although they can use other means, such as SMS messages, social networks, instant messaging applications or telephone calls and whose main objective is to steal confidential information and access credentials.

SUSPICION if you receive an email, SMS or WhatsApp

  • That requests that you perform a certain action urgently or immediately

  • That offers you a supposed refund that waits for it to be claimed

  • Containing spelling or grammatical errors or unusual expressions

  • That asks you to open an attached file, access a website or make a payment

REMEMBER:

  • SEPE will never request your personal or bank details by SMS, email or WhatsApp

  • If you receive an SMS, email or WhatsApp with these characteristics, you must discard it

  • Do not access the links or download attached files
