A couple of police officers suffered a fierce assault in Ramos Mejía, La Matanza district, which led to a shootout that left the two officers injured by gunshots and a criminal dead. The prosecutor in the case considered that the officers acted in legitimate defense.
The incident occurred on the corner of Berón de Astrada and Carabobo and was alerted by a call to 911 through which it was indicated that a group of criminals tried to rob a couple of a white Audi with firearms, without knowing that it was a couple of armed officers.
Moments later, a burst of explosions occurs, one of the assailants falls shot to the ground and the others flee the area. In the following sequence, the policewoman begins to scream for help, while the heartbreaking complaints of the other injured officer are heard.

Personnel from the La Matanza Department of the Buenos Aires Police went there to corroborate the incident. They met the wounded. An assistant PFA officer assigned to the Railways division, shot in the leg and hand, admitted having pulled her with her service pistol.
According to reports, one of the agents, 27 years old, was shot in the chest and had to undergo emergency surgery. His status is reserved. As for his partner, she was shot in the hand and leg, but is out of danger.
At the scene, the officers also found a 380 caliber pistol and a young man wounded by a gunshot after having been shot several times in the legs, abdomen and back. The criminal was transferred to the Güemes hospital, where he died after verifying that he had a dozen bullet wounds in his body.
