(Owais Kayani) The federal government has decided to introduce “Severance Package” by making necessary amendments in the Civil Servants Act of 1973.
The government will introduce a compulsory retirement package in the Civil Servants Act, 1973 with necessary amendments, the package will be applicable to all civil servants without any exception or preference. The amendment was approved, it was decided to include the compulsory retirement package in the Civil Servants Act, 1973, it was decided to amend Section 2(1) H and Section 11 C of the Civil Servants Act, 1973.
The package will be applicable to the employees on abolition of ministries, dissolution and merger of departments. The federal government will offer the package to the employees of the affected ministries. The recommendation committee will decide on the civil servant’s request within 30 days. If a civil servant does not accept the severance package, his services will be terminated. The amendments to the Civil Servants Act, 1973 will be approved by the Federal Cabinet.
