“A dedicated professional team has been established to implement the Electricity Law”

by time news

The IEC is preparing to implement the Electricity Law, which was approved this morning (Wednesday) in the Knesset, and already this morning a professional team convened under the guidance of the company’s CEO, Ofer Bloch, convened for the optimal implementation of the law.

The purpose of the team is to examine all aspects related to the implementation of the provision of the law and to bring together structures that will meet the criteria set by the law. Every application that is submitted and meets the requirements of the law will be examined at the individual level. If necessary, the team will be in contact with the planning authorities in order to promote the connections and open up statutory barriers. It is estimated that there are tens of thousands of buildings nationwide. In the past, the IEC has implemented a similar outline for connecting buildings based on the outline approved in 2014 and implemented successfully.

Ofer Bloch, CEO of the Electric Company, said: “The Electric Company welcomes the approval of the law, so that we can reduce dangerous pirated connections and connect buildings in a safe, legal manner and in accordance with electricity regulations and thus improve the quality of electricity supply and reduce infrastructure costs.”
