Under the management of the PP and their minister, the MRRD has accumulated a significant delay in one of the most expected policies by the citizens – the free rehabilitation of multi-family residential buildings, financed under the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability. This is clear from a written answer to my question by the acting minister Violeta Koritarova. She points to two main problems – valuable time lost in grading and ranking, and subsequently in dealing with objections received. As well as a lack of real actions to build the necessary administrative capacity. However, the minister assures that by the end of the month all 756 approved projects will receive invitations and contracts will be signed.
Yes, but people are beginning to feel that they have listened to promises for the last 4 years, but have not seen real actions. For six months, it did not become clear what these serious problems were, and the actual construction had not yet begun. Because people have no time to waste. Deadlines are pressing both municipalities and contractors. And the citizens are already worried about whether this program will be implemented at all. At the moment, only 49 contracts have been signed, and those for projects to which there were no objections. And because the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications is Jesuitically sparing in terms of information about the legacy of the previous regular government, I have sent a new written question requesting more specifics – both about the problems left by the Minister of Internal Affairs, but also about the measures taken by the Cabinet. Citizens expect comprehensive information and transparency. Not general talk.
