A detachment of the FAR takes part in the traditional military parade commemorating the independence of Mexico

The parade took place in the emblematic Zócalo Square, in the center of the Mexican capital, with the Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, in attendance as guest of honor.

A statement from the Moroccan embassy in Mexico emphasizes that the Moroccan detachment is part of 13 foreign delegations that took part in this parade, including those from France, Argentina, Colombia, Great Britain, Italy and Ivory Coast.

The official Moroccan delegation to this ceremony was led by the Moroccan ambassador to Mexico, Mr. Abdelfattah Lebbar, accompanied by Colonel Abdellatif Achkir in his capacity as commander of the Moroccan contingent.

In addition to its leader, the Moroccan detachment that paraded in the Zocalo Square was composed of 6 flag-bearers and 9 lines of 3 soldiers. It was greeted with a round of applause, in recognition of the Kingdom’s participation in this important celebration for the Mexican people.

The Moroccan participation, which was highly appreciated by the Mexican authorities, generated strong interest in the local media, which will undoubtedly further consolidate the bonds of friendship between Morocco and Mexico, the embassy’s press release said.

The traditional military parade saw the participation of 15,000 elements from different branches of the Mexican Armed Forces, as well as 600 tanks and military vehicles and 100 aircraft that flew over the capital on this occasion.
