As part of the structuring and formalization of cultural enterprises, the Arts and Culture Development Fund (FODAC) launched an application to which 100 cultural projects submitted. From this list, only six (6) were selected, after a diagnosis made by the selection committee, taking into account a certain number of factors such as the socio-economic impact, but also the realistic and achievable nature of said projects. The results of this analysis which brought the Bagas Arts Festival to the forefront, were proclaimed Friday April 19, 2024 by the Director General of this entity, at the end of a lively press conference at the Franco Guinean Cultural Center (CCFG ).
Of these six (6) projects, the Bagas Arts Festival took first place, followed by Sem Editions Kania Diye, Atelier Inventif Phase-Diffusion, Musi-Shine, and the 3rd Arts Festival. of Badiar and finally, the one on the creation of a co-working zone. Before the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Crafts, the Director General of FODAC returned to some selection criteria which allowed these six (6) lucky winners to be selected.
“The evaluation of these projects, which were submitted via the structure’s website, was not only on the form but also on the substance. For a structure to be recognized, it must first comply with a certain number of procedures, in particular the existence of an RCCM. Unfortunately after the analysis, we found that many of them (structures) which submitted their application did not have their valid RCCM. Of course, you have to have this RCCM to start when you are a cultural structure. During this analysis, we understood that some candidates did not send a copy of their passport, nor the visa, much less the project. However, the software that was used for this work wanted to have this mobility to be able to evaluate the impact for travel cases of course. Also, find out why you want to represent Guinea? What are you going to do for Guinea? And what will be the impact for our country? And among the projects that were tendered on time, there were 57 that did not comply with the form. They therefore did not have the legal documents to be able to have a substantive analysis. In addition, the project had to be coherent, realistic and feasible,” described Dame Néné Satourou Diawara.
In his communication, the Director General of FODAC recalled that the files of these six (6) selected projects were codified, which allowed their validation by the selection committee.
“The first project is that of the Bagas Arts Festival. It is a festival which is held every year near Bofa and which highlights the culture of our territory. The second project is the fifth edition of Tania (….). And for your information, Mr. Minister, one project among these six (6) was near Massa in Ivory Coast. He provided services worthy of the name, not only in the name of his structure but also, she participated in a creation with another structure,” underlined Mr. Malick Kébé, before announcing the holding of training on the days to come, which will be beneficial to cultural structures which have not been able to take the plunge, to enable them to better prepare for future events.
