BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, after bulldozing the opposition, a one-man autocracy was ushered in Bangladesh through an unprecedented freak dummy election. The entire Bangladesh is now a hostage in his hands. Everywhere there is a dire situation.

He said these things in a press conference at the party’s central office in Nayapaltan of the capital on Thursday (February 15).

Rizvi said that Sheikh Hasina said in an event at Ganobhaban yesterday that Awami League does not do politics of revenge. BNP is a terrorist group, it must be ensured that BNP-Jamaat gets their misdeeds duly and speedily punished. This controversial statement proves that the system of democracy has removed absolute tolerance from the country and installed a one-party dictatorship. The government has very deliberately replaced democracy and truth with a reign of injustice.

The government has maintained power by ruling the syndicate. Rizvi said that they are once again threatening to increase the price of Wasa water. The occupying government has taken another strategy to cut people’s pockets. Even after Dhaka WASA is a profitable company, the price increase of water is being organized unfairly. It will have a negative impact on about 80 percent of the people living in the cities of the country. Moreover, there is a severe shortage of clean water in large cities.

Claiming that the government has started increasing the price of gas and electricity, Rizvi said that the occupying government’s policy is to cut the pockets of poor people. Gas collection has already been stopped in 4 districts of the northern region. Starting from fertilizer factories, industrial factories are about to be closed due to gas shortage. A terrible financial anarchy prevails in the country.
