A direct debit of less than 75 euros is coming in a few days, many have forgotten it

Back to school is here and your expenses include: school supplies, clothes, equipment, sports or cultural licenses… September is definitely not a friend of bank accounts. With around 900 euros spent this month on average, the budget flirts with the red very quickly. However, in September, it is not only the return to school that must be integrated. Another debit line also generally appears in the bank account.

Within a few days, 10 million French people will see the visible direct debit, labeled “DGFIP Direct Debit”. This will be registered even though you have not spent any money with the merchant of this name, or even the reference amount. But don’t be afraid, it’s not a trick. And for good reason, he is the Director General of Public Finance.

These are actually taxes which will be applied directly on your current account to settle your debt following your income declaration. Many French people still have to pay the balance to the tax authorities, in addition to the existing withholding tax every year. In total, around 2000 euros must be paid in addition to the DGFiP.

For people who have to pay an amount less than or equal to 300 euros, the payment will be made once: the total amount will be received once. On the other hand, for people who have to pay 301 euros or more will see the payment spread over four parts, with an equal amount each time. Therefore, this will represent four direct debits of at least 75 euros. If you have 1200 euros left to pay, four deductions of 300 euros will be made.

These deadlines are not new since the tax authorities have told them to the taxpayers involved in the tax notice, sent at the end of July. However, with summer and holidays, many have forgotten the dates. For all those who owe up to 300 euros, the withdrawal will take place on Wednesday September 26. For those who owe more than 300 euros, the first withdrawal will also take place on Wednesday September 26; the second is scheduled for Friday 25 October; Monday November 25 for the party; then Friday December 27 for the final deadline.
