CHENNAI: Councilor and others have been arrested in the case of killing a jawan who had come home for vacation. The incident took place last night at Pochampally in Krishnagiri district. A young soldier named Prabhu died. Nagojanahalli town panchayat member and DMK local leader A Chinnaswamy was arrested by the police on charges of murder in the case.

The dispute over taking water from the panchayat water tank resulted in the murder. After the dispute in front of the panchayat water tank, Chinnaswamy, who came with his accomplices, entered the house and attacked Prabhu. The critically injured Prabhu died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. Along with Councilor Chinnaswamy, five people, including Guru Satyamurthy, a constable in the Armed Reserve Police, were also arrested in the case.
