A driver was filmed with a balloon believed to be filled with paradisiacal gas at a major intersection in Sofia. The video went viral on social media and caused outrage among users.
The distribution of paradise gas is absolutely prohibited, as well as its use by anyone under the age of 18, as well as its sale in establishments.
There is no heaven gas test. So, in the incident in Sofia, it cannot be established whether it was used. The video was received by the police.
The SDVR reported themselves after a video published on Facebook, the police said. Around 10 am today, the driver was found in the area of Dolni Bogrov by specialized police forces and traffic police of the SDVR.
The man is 26 years old, he was tested for alcohol and drugs – the tests were negative. He admitted that he was under the influence of paradise gas. A warning protocol was drawn up for him.
The biochemist from BAS, Dr. Julian Karadjov, explained what the impact of paradise gas is.
“Dizziness, change of senses follows when using it, it is very dangerous when driving a car, because it is not known what amount has been inhaled and whether loss of consciousness will follow.” A person becomes absolutely inadequate,” explained the scientist.
He added that paradise gas, with long-term use, eats vitamin B12 from the body, which can lead to paralysis, paresis, and severe damage can follow.
“Paradise gas was rarely used medicinally or recreationally until a few years ago. And using it 10-20 times a day is very risky,” explained Dr. Karadjov.
Krasimir Georgiev, who is the chairman of the Association for Qualification of Motorists in Bulgaria, commented that such a driver is a total extremist.
“When the police pull over drivers with 0.6 over they are of course dangerous but we’re going to make him a repeat offender, I’m not saying it’s normal but it’s more normal than inhaling paradise gas and then drifting off.” Separately, we must fight against dangerous behavior on the road in general,” he told BTV.
