The Dutch Court of Appeal in The Hague on Monday banned the government from sending parts of F-35 fighter jets to Israel due to the ongoing Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip.

As Day.Az reports with reference to Interfax, the Associated Press agency reports.

According to the court’s decision, the country’s authorities are obliged to stop all exports of spare parts for the F-35 to Israel within seven days.

“There is no denying the clear risk that exported F-35 parts could be used in serious human rights abuses,” it said.

Defense lawyers, in turn, said that this ban has no practical meaning, since the United States will be able to send spare parts for the F-35 to Israel on its own, without resorting to the services of the Netherlands.

In the Dutch city of Voensdrecht there is a warehouse that belongs to the United States. It stores F-35 spare parts, which Washington then distributes to countries that request them, explains the Associated Press.
