A factory worker in Maryland murdered three co-workers, in addition he wounded two others. He has been charged with dozens of criminal offenses, including murder. A search of the killer’s home turned up more weapons.

Joe Lewis Esquille, 23, is charged with a variety of counts of murder, attempted murder, assault and possession of a firearm. This is according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. The man was arrested without the ability to be released on bail, officials said. Esquille went to his car to get a rifle after finishing a full shift last Thursday at a concrete plant in the state of Maryland in the United States and opened fire at his co-workers around 2:30 p.m.

After murdering Mark Fry, 50, Charles Minic Jr., 31, and Joshua Wallace, 30, and fatally wounding another colleague, Esquille escaped in his Mitsubishi, and was stopped by state police in the distance. Of a few miles away, police said.

According to local media reports, a shootout ensued between the shooter and two police officers. Esquille hit one of them, but he was not in danger of death, a search of the killer’s home turned up more weapons.

All of the victims found at the scene were factory workers, Washington County Sheriff Douglas Molendor said at a news conference. The gunman used a semi-automatic rifle in the killings that were taken out of his vehicle. At this stage it is still not clear what the motive for the shooting was, but local media believe that this is an act of revenge on the workers with whom he had a quarrel.
