A false message was distributed on behalf of the Israel Police about a security incident in various areas throughout the country

The police recently (Tuesday) issued a clarification regarding a statement sent on behalf of the Israel Police and distributed in recent hours warning of a security incident and asking residents to lock themselves in their homes. Police said it was a false message.

“In recent hours, we have witnessed the spread of false messages on behalf of the Israel Police warning of the occurrence of security incidents in various areas around the country and even calling on the public to stay indoors. We also ask the public to refrain from posting messages of unknown origin. ” Delivered in a police statement.
