Two people were killed, including a child, in a Russian airstrike near the Ukrainian capital Kiev, according to reports from Reuters and DPA. The State Emergency Service and local emergency services confirmed the incident in a statement and on Telegram.
The bodies of a 35-year-old father and his 4-year-old son were found under the rubble of a residential building in Brovary, near Kiev, after a Russian missile strike late last night. Three others were seriously injured, including a 13-year-old child.
Russian authorities reported that at least 13 people were injured when debris from a downed Ukrainian missile fell on an apartment building in the city of Kursk overnight. Two people were seriously injured, and a fire broke out in the building.
Meanwhile, Russian forces claimed to have destroyed Ukrainian military equipment and manpower in the border area of the Kursk region using Su-25 fighter jets.
Russian authorities continued evacuating civilians from the southern Kursk region on Wednesday, following the Ukrainian incursion that began this week. More than 76,000 people have been evacuated from border areas and settled in other parts of Russia, the local Emergencies Ministry reported.
A state of emergency was declared in the Kursk region on Wednesday after Ukrainian forces advanced into the region.
