A festive evening “Zəfərin ilk baharı” (First Spring of Victory) was held in Oslo, organized with the support of the State Committee of Azerbaijan for Work with Diaspora, the International Mugham Center, the Norwegian Azerbaijani Youth Organization (NAYO), the “Azerbaijani Language” Sunday School named after Nizami Ganjavi and the Azerbaijani at home in Oslo, organizers told Day.Az.
The event began with a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs of the Karabakh war who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Azerbaijan.
The coordinator of the Coordination Council of Scandinavian Azerbaijanis for Norway, Ramil Aliyev, who spoke, emphasized that as a result of the Victory in the 44-day war of 2020 and the one-day local anti-terrorism events held in September last year, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan were completely restored.
“The “First Spring of Victory” event will serve to further unite Azerbaijanis living in Norway, friends of our society, strengthen our friendship and solidarity,” he said.
Sunday school students and their parents recited poems dedicated to the Motherland, the Novruz holiday, and showed stage performances with folklore characters Bahar Gizy, Kesoy and Kechal. Guests were presented with an exhibition reflecting ancient national traditions and promoting our culture. Salim Abbaszadeh presented the book “Sən elə bir zirvəsən”, translated into Norwegian and English, which tells about the history of Azerbaijan, the Karabakh conflict, Victory in the 44-day Patriotic War. There were performances by laureates of international competitions, mugham performers Miralam Miralamov and Kamila Nabieva.
A memorandum was signed between the International Mugham Center and the Azerbaijan House in Oslo. Director of the ICM, Honored Artist Sahib Pashazade noted that the memorandum will create new opportunities for widespread promotion of the art of mugham in the Scandinavian countries and the implementation of a number of interesting projects in the future.
