Manama: 28 people were rescued in a fire in a high-rise building under construction in Bahrain. A fire broke out in Hoora yesterday morning. As the fire spread, the Civil Defense team rescued those trapped in the building. As a precaution, people were evacuated from hotels near the building.
The fire broke out at 9.30 in the morning. As soon as the information was received, 11 fire engines and other emergency service vehicles were deployed at the spot. The fire spread to several floors but was brought under control successfully. Officials said that 13 people trapped inside the building were rescued using a crane and 15 people were rescued at the entrance.
Three people have leg injuries. People were evacuated from nearby hotels as smoke rose from the building. An investigation has been started to find out the cause of the fire.

Expatriate arrested for stealing electric wires from houses under construction
Manama: An expatriate was arrested for stealing electrical wires and construction materials in Bahrain. The theft took place in houses under construction. The incident took place in Northern Governorate.
The 32-year-old suspect was arrested after a vigorous investigation. He is Asian. The Northern Governorate Police Directorate revealed that it had received several reports of theft and legal action had been taken.

The case was handed over to the public prosecution. A similar case was reported in Muharraq last week. Five Asians were arrested for stealing electrical wires and building materials from under-construction houses in East Hidd.
