According to TASS and RIA Novosti, the fire occurred on the territory of Razryad LLC. The company is engaged in the disposal of ammunition and their components, the production and storage of industrial explosives, as well as the transportation of hazardous production facilities.

The prosecutor of the Ryazan region organized an inspection on the fact of a fire in the workshop for the production of explosives, according to the department’s website. The Investigation Department of the ICR in the Ryazan Region opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Art. 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence). On behalf of the chairman of the TFR, Alexander Bastrykin, experienced criminologists from the central office of the department were sent to the region.
