/ The US military said, on Thursday, that its forces launched strikes on 14 Houthi missiles that were prepared to be launched from Yemen.

The US military added, “The missiles posed an imminent threat to commercial ships and US Navy ships in the region.”

An American defense official said, according to Sky News Arabia, that “the fourth round of American strikes against the Houthi terrorist sites in the west of the country included the use of warplanes and a Tomahawk missile group, launched from an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer and an Ohio-class submarine.” Both of them were in the Red Sea.

Houthi-affiliated media announced, earlier today, Thursday, that new American-British raids targeted a number of Yemeni governorates, hours after the Houthis claimed a new attack on an American ship in the Red Sea.

According to the Houthi media, “the American-British strikes targeted the governorates of Hodeidah, Taiz, Dhamar, Al-Bayda and Saada.”

These new strikes came after the Houthis claimed responsibility for an attack targeting an American ship off the coast of Yemen.

A military spokesman for the Houthis said that they targeted the American ship Ginko Picardie in the Gulf of Aden “with a number of appropriate naval missiles,” vowing to continue launching attacks in the framework of self-defense and in support of the Palestinians in Gaza, he said.

For its part, the US Military Command in the Middle East (Centcom) indicated yesterday evening, Wednesday, that the ship was targeted by a drone.

Centcom explained in a statement that the attack did not result in casualties, but rather caused minor damage to the ship.

The ship flying the Marshall Islands flag is owned and operated by the United States, according to the same source.

In the United States, media outlets, including CBS and CNN, quoted American officials as saying that a fourth round of raids targeted an unspecified number of Houthi targets at dawn, Yemeni time, on Thursday.

Weeks ago, the Houthis began targeting commercial ships in the Red Sea or near the Bab al-Mandab Strait, saying they were linked to or headed to Israel.

On Tuesday, US forces destroyed four anti-ship ballistic missiles that were prepared to be launched from Yemen on commercial and warships.

Last week, American and British forces launched raids targeting 30 sites in Yemen, before American forces targeted an air base in Sanaa the next day.

The new raids came hours after the United States announced that it had re-listed the Houthis on the list of “terrorist” entities due to their repeated attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea.
