A “French championship” will put road rescue firefighters into competition

by time news

Who will be the best in timed and public “extrication drills”? From Thursday until Saturday, in Nice, 25 delegations of firefighters from all over France will compete for the National Road Rescue Challenge.

This competition, which will also host an English team and another from Lisbon, aims “to demonstrate the skills of firefighters and to advance [leurs] techniques” on “the rapid care of victims of road accidents”, details the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service of the Alpes-Maritimes, at the maneuver for this 2022 edition.

Allow hardware to evolve

In addition to its “French championship” side, that 20 Minutes had already followed in 2017 in Nantes, the event, organized this year at the Palais des expositions in Nice, is “a formidable springboard allowing the evolution of the extrication equipment supplied by our French and foreign manufacturers”, insists Sdis 06.

Prevention activities, initiation to life-saving gestures, meetings with all road safety players will also be offered to visitors (free access), over the three days of the challenge. More than 700 students are also expected.
