SEEN FROM ELSEWHERE – A German company from Cologne has found a promising approach. Its researchers have just received new funds injected by a renowned and controversial investor.

Investor Frank Thelen once had many dreams – driving flying cars or being able to eat without having to cook. Freigeist (“free spirit”), his Bonn-based investment company, wants to use his funds to make these dreams a reality. Such is at least his ambition, even if the reality is often different – like the results of his fund open to the public 10xDNA Disruptive Technologies, which he launched with great fanfare last year and which was to allow small savers to benefit from the profits of exponentially growing companies.
