A pileup on the A7 motorway, in the Drôme, claimed the life of an 11-year-old Portuguese girl and left nine injured, including two seriously, on Saturday morning, we learned from the firefighters. The day is classified red on the roads for returns.
The accident, in which three vehicles were involved, occurred by “normal time” shortly before 5 a.m., in a north-south direction, in the town of Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux, the firefighters told Agence France-Presse.
“Among the victims, an 11-year-old girl of Portuguese nationality died, two are in absolute emergency and the other seven in relative emergency”, said the departmental operational center for fire and rescue, which dispatched forty-three firefighters at the height of the relief. A helicopter and two land vehicles from the Drôme mobile emergency and resuscitation service allowed the evacuation of the victims, the majority of whom were Portuguese nationals and a Luxembourger, according to the same source.
