Jean-Christophe Vincent, on November 3 in the premises of 6eme Sens Immobilier, Lyon. JULIETTE TREILLET FOR “THE WORLD

Since he took over the presidency of Lyon-La Duchère, an emblematic football club in the 9th arrondissement of Lyon, two years ago, Jean-Christophe Vincent, 53, has displayed inexhaustible energy. The club with 600 members, including 550 children and adolescents, has 75 social projects in progress, which range from the organization of academic support courses to the detection of violence of all kinds, thanks to trained supervision, in conjunction with the services of the metropolis and the State.

Since the creation of the sexual and domestic violence prevention center, in partnership with the L’Enfant bleu association, the football club has succeeded in detecting forty problematic situations in the families of its licensees. Ten of them were followed by social services, and three were the subject of reports to the courts, with safeguard measures as a result. “We took these children out of dangerous situations simply because we created the conditions for listening and appropriate support. In the world of sport, awareness is still far from the reality of the risks surrounding children. Fighting hidden violence is our duty”maintains Jean-Christophe Vincent, keen on this sensitive subject.

It also organizes courses combining sport and school activities. before the start of the school year, sets up a tutoring system for students from the EM Lyon business school, for around twenty adolescents, and leads an awareness campaign on menstrual poverty, with training for educators on the subject and professional interventions with young people. “An amateur sports club is there to animate and structure a territory. He lives with his neighborhood, with the families of the children entrusted to him”summarizes Jean-Christophe Vincent.

“What we do is political”

Never shy of a sharp remark on “the passivity of certain elected officials” or “the above-ground technocrats” of the higher authorities of sport, the president of Lyon-La Duchère, to whom we sometimes attribute electoral desires, has the habit of saying: “I do politics on a daily basis; what we do is political. »

He knows the political world. When he was completing his thesis at the Pierre-Léon Center for Economic and Social History, Jean-Christophe Vincent responded to a job offer from the departmental federation of the Socialist Party (PS). Preferred then to Olivier Dussopt, current Minister of Labor, in the last square of candidates, the Lyonnais held the position of chief of staff to Sylvie Guillaume, federal secretary of the Rhône, who has since become a European deputy. Then he went on to serve as general secretary of the PS group in the Rhône-Alpes region for eight years. The collapse of the Strauss-Kahnian movement pushed him to resign. After nine years working for the public works group Serfim, Jean-Christophe Vincent joined the 6e Sens Immobilier group, of which he is deputy general director, responsible for strategy and public relations, and also a major sponsor of the Lyon-La Duchère club. This prompted the former club president Mohamed Tria to entrust him with the club’s external relations, particularly with elected officials, before passing the baton to him.
