BerlinOh yes, our cucumber, the green thing. To be found in slices between cold cuts and rolls, in salad with dill or on tired eyes. Well, and in alcoholic drinks like this one. In addition to the attractive color, it is the freshness of the handy vegetables that fascinates Benjamin Schickel. He is currently working on a new menu for the Butter & Korn cocktail bar and frankly admits: “I prefer cucumbers in drinks than in food.”

The Butter & Korn in Neukölln has only been around since May of last year. The pleasure that Schickel had as a barman there so far was correspondingly short. He is now all the more looking forward to the hopefully soon reopening: “I’m working on new recipes, whereby we are expanding our previous focus on exclusively regional products to include ingredients from further afield.” So it can be a peppercorn – and pepper grows as is well known, not on fields in Brandenburg.
