by time news

Police arrested a Haifa resident yesterday (Saturday), on suspicion of assaulting and stabbing a family member at his home along with another family member.

The investigation shows that the victim’s father-in-law and brother-in-law, a 41-year-old resident of Haifa, apparently attacked him in the wake of a divorce dispute, slightly injured him (according to medical sources) and fled the scene.

The victim turned to Bnei Zion Medical Center in Haifa for treatment, and his brother-in-law, a 24-year-old resident of the city, was arrested for questioning at the police station.

The police intend to ask this morning (Sunday) to extend the suspect’s detention in the Magistrate’s Court in Haifa.

Police are expected to make further arrests. The investigation continues.
