A 23-year-old Haifa resident tried to break into a business in the city, and was shot by a police officer who felt his life was in danger. Preliminary investigation shows that the policeman noticed the suspect trying to break into a business and during his arrest attempt he suspected that he was probably trying to hit him with a sharp object, at which point the policeman shot at him.
As a result of the shooting, the suspect was seriously injured and was taken to Carmel Medical Center in Haifa. The investigation of the case was transferred to the Department of Police Investigations at the Ministry of Justice.
