Time.news – At least 16 people, including two children and the Ukrainian Interior Minister, Denys Monastyrskyy, were killed in the crash of a helicopter near a kindergarten in Brovary, near Kiev. The police reported it.
“We have information on 16 deaths including two children,” police said in a statement. The interior minister, his first deputy and another senior official on board the plane were also killed, the statement said. According to Ukrainian media reports, nine of the victims were on board the aircraft. 22 wounded were taken to the hospital, including 10 children.

The incident was announced by the governor of Kiev, Oleksiy Kuleba, quoted by the Guardian. “In the city of Brovary, a helicopter crashed near a kindergarten and a residential building. At the time of the tragedy, children and employees of the institution were in kindergarten. All have been evacuated. There are casualties. Ambulances, carabinieri and firefighters are at work at the scene of the accident.”

A tragedy that comes on the same day in which the Ukrainians denounce that, since the beginning of the invasion, on February 24th, the Russians have kidnapped 14,000 children. This thesis is supported by Daria Herasymchuk, presidential adviser for the rights and rehabilitation of minors, quoted by the Kyiv Independent.

“We have managed to identify and verify the data of at least 13,899 children kidnapped and deported by the Russian army and, unfortunately, we can say that only 125 of them managed to return home‘ he said, adding that Russian troops have killed 456 children and injured 897 since the war began.
