The sequence of events began almost two years ago. According to the indictment filed against the teacher, she texted the student in May 2021 early in the morning and invited him to come to her house, where they allegedly had sex. After the arrest, she admitted to the authorities that she was in a romantic relationship with the student, and he testified that they were together until October 2022.

In accordance with the law and the boy’s age, Marth is accused of sexually assaulting the student. The authorities stated that “a relational system between a student-athlete and a teacher or coach can be sensitive and unstable. Exploitation of this relational system by the teacher is a blatant disregard for the well-being of the student and the law.”
