At around 6:45 p.m., the Saint-Prosper Fire Department was called in to intervene on 26th Street for a residential fire.

According to the owners of the house, it all started in the basement. When they came down to see, flames 2-3 feet from a mattress were visible. When the firefighters arrived, black smoke was visible at the height of the basement.

According to the Chief of the Fire Department, Clément Loignon, they had to make a hole 4 feet by 4 feet in a wall to prevent the fire from progressing. By 7:45 p.m., the operation was completed.

The damage would be minor and the residents were able to return to their homes. The cause of the fire is still unknown and there were no injuries.
