Christchurch – With the Twenty20 World Cup approaching, Pakistan suffered a huge defeat against New Zealand. Kiwis won the tri-nation series by nine wickets. After winning the toss, Pakistan scored 130 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the Kiwis won in 16.1 overs with the loss of one wicket.
The setback for Pakistan was that none of the batsmen could perform well. Pakistan’s top scorer is Iftikhar Ahmed who scored 27 runs off 27 balls. New Zealand won with 23 balls to spare with the loss of just one wicket in the reply. Kiwis opener Finn Allen scored a half-century. The Finn faced 42 balls and got out after scoring 62 runs. The player hit six sixes. Devon Conway remained unbeaten on 49 off 46 balls. Captain Kane Williamson scored nine runs in nine balls.
Bangladesh will play in the Tri-Nation Twenty20 alongside hosts New Zealand and Pakistan. When Pakistan and New Zealand met in the second match of the series, Pakistan won by six wickets. Pakistan won by 21 runs against Bangladesh. Pakistan has one more match to play against Bangladesh.
