Berlin – Sometimes I think about the words “human” or “man” – also in view of the many messages that one hears every day. It strikes me that it always sounds as if “the human” is basically something good and reasonable, true to the poet’s motto: “A human being, how proud that sounds!” Of course that’s nonsense. Even the most horrendous nonsense is human. You can’t just pick the good things out of a species.
