Only garlic, red peppers and oranges from abroad are getting cheaper

Most basic foodstuffs, fruits and vegetables monitored by the State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Markets (DKSBT) increased minimally in price on the stock exchanges in the country during the week, according to the data in the weekly bulletin of the commission, quoted by BTA.

The market price index (MPI), which reflects the movement of wholesale food prices in our country, rose by 0.62 percent on a weekly basis to 2,280 points. Last week the ITC was 2.266 points.

The price of imported tomatoes rose by 10.2 percent to BGN 3.56 per kilogram, and cucumbers – by 7.5 percent to BGN 3.45 per kilogram. Potatoes added 4.1 percent to BGN 1.28 per kilogram.

Carrots rose in price by 0.9 percent to BGN 1.18 per kilogram, ripe onions (import) – by 1.4 percent and are sold at BGN 1.40 per kilogram. Cabbage rose in price by 3.2 percent to BGN 0.98 per kilogram, salad by 5.4 percent and is sold at BGN 1.17 per piece.

Of the vegetables tracked by the DKSBT, only ripe garlic (imported) – by 2.0 percent to BGN 5.33 per kilogram, and red peppers (imported) – by 3.3 percent to BGN 3.47 per kilogram, have become cheaper.

The price of apples (import) rose by 1.7 percent and they are traded at BGN 1.82 per kilogram. Lemons are sold with 4.4 percent more – 2.15 BGN per kilogram. Bananas go up by 2.2 percent to BGN 2.85 per kilogram, tangerines – also by 2.2 percent to BGN 2.37 per kilogram. Oranges became cheaper by 5.5 percent and were traded at BGN 2.05 per kilogram.

Cow cheese became cheaper by 1.3 percent to BGN 10.99 per kilogram, “Vitosha” cheese rose by 0.2 percent to BGN 16.80 per kilogram. Yogurt (3 and over 3 percent fat content) adds 2.5 percent and is bought at BGN 1.21 for a bucket of 400 g. Fresh milk (3 percent fat content) is sold 0.9 percent cheaper – 2.26 BGN per liter.

Chicken meat increased in price by 0.5 percent and is available at BGN 6.27 per kilogram, eggs (size M) – by 2.7 percent and they are sold at BGN 0.38 per piece wholesale.

The price of rice increased by 3.4 percent and it is traded at BGN 3.34 per kilogram, of lentils – by 0.7 percent and it is bought at BGN 4.25 per kilogram, of ripe beans – with 0.5 percent to BGN 4.17 per kilogram.

Sugar remains unchanged and is traded at BGN 2.21 per kilogram, as well as oil, which is available at BGN 2.63 per liter. Type 500 flour increased in price by 1.6 percent to BGN 1.24 per kilogram. Cow butter (pack of 125 grams) became cheaper by 2.3 percent and is sold at BGN 2.57 per unit.
