A laptop containing classified information about the organization of the Summer Olympic Games in France was stolen from the logistics coordinator at the Pierre-Marois stadium in Lille.
As Day.Az reports, radio station Europe 1 reported this on Tuesday.
According to her, the bag with the laptop and work ID was in the specialist’s personal car. The theft occurred at approximately 18:30 local time on Monday.
According to the radio station, the computer contained data on the security organization in the Olympic village, which will be located in the commune of Villeneuve-d’Ascq, southeast of Lille. However, the owner of the missing items claims that her pass did not open any doors at the stadium, but files with sensitive data was stored not on the computer, but on the server, and access to it from this device was promptly blocked.
The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in France will take place on July 26 in Paris, but the competition will be held in several cities in the European part of the country and in overseas territories.
A few months before the opening of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in France, there was a series of thefts, the main target of which were computers and electronic devices.
While the media report that these devices contain data on traffic management or security arrangements at certain sites, the organizers, as a rule, claim that there were no secret files on these devices.
