Saturday around 4 p.m. 27 minutes news portal “What’s happening in Kaunas” received a reader’s photos, which were captured in Piliuona. The photos show many police crews and the area of the Peace Highway fenced off with a stop tape.
“One officer was walking around the farmyard,” added the reader who sent the photos.
The officials of the Kaunas District Chief Police Commissariat (Kaunas Akskr. VPK) have not yet revealed what kind of crime was committed, but they have confirmed the fact of the crime.
“A crime has been committed. The officers are doing their job. We will not comment this time”, said the officer on duty of the Kaunas County VPK by phone.
In the meantime, Odeta Vaitkevičienė, head of the Communications Sub-Department of the Kaunas VPK, commented to the news portal “What’s happening in Kaunas”, on Saturday around 3 pm. A man was injured with a knife in the village of Piliuona, Kaunas district.
When the doctors arrived, they declared the man, born in 1997, dead.
The officers arrested a man born in 1977, he was found to have a mild degree of intoxication – 0.99 percent.
As can be seen from lrytas.lt the photographer took pictures at the scene, the murdered man was found lying on the roadway.
After paramedics pronounced him dead, police cars surrounded the body and all traffic on the street came to a complete standstill while officers and experts gathered evidence.
Later, the Police Department reported that the conflict between the two men took place in the yard of the suspect’s house. The owner of the house stabbed the guest in the chest, he went to the street and collapsed there. When the medics arrived, they declared the man dead.
Officers are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
