A large quantity of counterfeit goods was seized in Pleven after an operation, the police announced.
The inspection was held on February 20. The aim is to prevent, intercept, detect and document offenses directed against the trafficking of illegal goods and the distribution of counterfeit and contraband goods on a regional scale. Shops have been checked.
267 irregular goods were seized from a shop on “Knyaz Alexander Battenberg” street – blouses with short and long sleeves, sports sets, black jackets, fur coats, belts and hats with inscriptions of registered trademarks, which are offered for sale without the consent of the owner of the exclusive right.
Around 12:40 p.m., various items – displayed for sale – numerous sneakers, belts, top and bottom sets, blouses and jackets, with popular brands, were confiscated from another stall in the same store. A total of 144 items were seized, dariknews.bg reported.
The investigation into the case continues with the questioning of witnesses, appointment of experts in interaction with the prosecutor’s office. It is a common practice for unscrupulous traders to import low-quality goods or goods of questionable quality and characteristics into the territory of the country and the EU.
In order to sell them quickly, consumers are misled by the images placed on them, copying or imitating the logos of well-known and reliable brands and manufacturers.
Many similar goods are of inferior quality, performance or durability in use, investigators warn.
