A Latvian tourist bus overturned after a collision in Estonia /

The collision took place in Terva parish of Valga district, at the 42nd kilometer of Valga-Ulu highway.

The report about the accident was received at the emergency center at 15.43.

According to preliminary police data, a MAN bus with Latvian license plates was traveling from Valga to Tāgepera when it was overtaken by a Chevrolet Aveo car. During the overtaking, the passenger car hit the side of the bus.

The bus left the road and overturned on its side. In addition to the driver, there were 20 passengers on the bus, five of whom were taken to the hospital by the emergency service for medical examination. One passenger suffered a serious shoulder injury, “Postimees” writes.

The other passengers were supposed to be taken to Valka by police bus. It was planned that another bus would pick them up there, the Estonian portal “Delfi” reports.

The 62-year-old bus driver, the 72-year-old car driver and the passengers of the car were not injured in the accident. None of the vehicle drivers were under the influence of alcohol.
