A high-level Libyan delegation, sent by the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, and headed by the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid Al-Lafi, arrived in Syria, where he was received by the Commander-in-Chief of the new administration, Ahmed Al-Sharaa.
The delegation that accompanied Al-Lafi included the Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed, and the Director of the Military Intelligence Department, Major General Mahmoud Hamza, according to what the official “Our Government” platform reported.
During the meeting, Al-Lafi conveyed “the greetings of Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dabaiba to the leadership and the Syrian people, stressing the support of the National Unity Government for the Syrian people and its position in support of their rights and freedom.”
The meeting dealt with “strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, and discussing prospects for cooperation in the political, economic, and security fields.”
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed “the risks facing the region, in addition to issues of common interest that contribute to achieving regional security and stability.”
The two parties stressed “the importance of developing joint action mechanisms and enhancing dialogue in a way that serves the common interests of the Libyan and Syrian peoples.”
