Yesterday, Wednesday, Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani received Imad Al-Falah, the special envoy of the President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi.

According to a statement by the Mauritanian presidency, the envoy of the President of the Presidential Council carried a message from Menfi to the Mauritanian president, which included an emphasis on the depth of the historical relations between the two brotherly countries.

The message included an emphasis on the necessity of continuous and close consultation in all areas of concern to the two brotherly countries, and activating the role of the Arab Maghreb Union.

According to a statement by the Mauritanian presidency, the Libyan envoy received positive responses from the President of the Republic.

Al-Menfi sent special envoys to Morocco and Mauritania, coinciding with the holding of the tripartite Maghreb summit in Tunisia, which brought him together with Tunisian President Kais Saied and Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

The sources stated that the envoys will clarify the backgrounds and motives of the tripartite summit and ensure that the structure of the Maghreb Union is not abandoned.

At the conclusion of their consultative meeting at Carthage Palace, on Monday, Al-Menfi, Saeed and Tebboune agreed on 6 items related to border security, investment cooperation, the electrical interconnection project, the exchange of goods and merchandise, and cooperation in the field of scientific research between the three countries.

The first tripartite summit was held based on an agreement made during a meeting on the sidelines of the summit of gas exporting countries, which was hosted in the Algerian capital last February.
