Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogačar, 25, is setting himself a monumental challenge in the 2024 season: conquering both the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France. To achieve this, the impressive formation of the UAE Team Emirates stands out for the next French round.

The team for the Grand Boucle presents itself as an imposing force, led by Pogačar and supported by an all-star cast. Adam Yates, recognized for his climbing prowess, stands as a key bishop, along with the talented João Almeida, an outstanding Portuguese who always seeks to be at the front of the peloton, and the young Spaniard Juan Ayuso, fourth in the last Vuelta a España and that he has been asking for stripes in the team.

The training is completed by experienced climbers such as Marc Soler and Pavel Sivakov, the versatile Belgian Tim Wellens, and the classic specialist Nils Politt. The team’s unique strategy for the Tour de France is to have four contenders for the yellow jersey. While Pogačar will lead in the Giro d’Italia, Yates, Almeida and Ayuso will seek to arrive in the best possible shape to stand out in the general classification of the French round.

This formation reflects the depth and strength of the team that will face rivals of Vingegaard’s stature with Jumbo-Visma, current champion and rival to beat. With an ambitious strategy and a selection of diverse talent, UAE Team Emirates is preparing for this great challenge, determined to overcome any obstacle in its quest for the coveted yellow jersey and leave its mark in cycling history.
