Why does the Earth’s crust have less chlorine than other bodies in the solar system? Chemical analyzes carried out with meteorites fallen on Earth, which have a chemical composition similar to that of the nebula that gave rise to the Solar System and our planet, indicate that the Earth’s crust shows a severe lack of chlorine, although other chemical elements are found in similar proportions on Earth and in primitive meteorites. Two researchers, one from the University of New Mexico and the other from NASA, have tackled this problem and publish their interesting results in the journal Earth and Planetary Science Letters.
