A four-year-old girl from the Czech Republic reportedly died while on vacation in Croatia! The girl, who lived with her parents in the city of Medulin, was said to have complained of severe abdominal pain. Rescuers rushed to the scene, but the girl could not be saved.
The tragedy was supposed to take place on Wednesday, July 12, in the early hours of the morning. “The police received a report that a girl from the Czech Republic needs medical treatment. She came to Medulin with her family for a summer vacation.” said police spokeswoman Suzana Sokač for the daily 24sata. The little girl reportedly complained of severe abdominal pain. Rescuers rushed to the scene.
According to the above-mentioned newspaper, her father tried to revive the girl before the rescuers arrived, and the rescuers then continued resuscitation. They resuscitated the little girl for an hour, but in vain. “Despite the efforts of rescuers, the child died and was taken to a hospital in Pula for an autopsy. The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.” added the police officers. According to information from Index daily, the parents took their daughter to the emergency room the evening before the tragedy, where they examined her and finally released her.
The Croatian Minister of Health also commented on the case to the index.hr server. “I know about the above situation, I am in contact with the director of the VFN in Pula, my colleague Hrstić. Since the investigation is ongoing, I will not comment on the details of the incident itself. I can only state that the girl was previously examined in the hospital, certain laboratory tests were performed and after her condition improved, she was discharged home,” said Vili Beroš. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday. Police have preliminarily ruled out a violent death.
Blesk turned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic with a request for confirmation of the incident. “We do not comment on consular cases involving minors,” spokeswoman Mariana Werner said.
