A little jump to Hawaii: leave the excellent puki, meet the loco moco

by time news

Sharona Market may suffer from problematic public relations, but we must admit that in the last two years it has become a considerable culinary center with some rare culinary gems. And in Tel Aviv, which is full of culinary diversity, there are not many unrepresented cuisines, but here is a country that has barely visited Tel Aviv – It’s time to say Aloha to the Hawaiian place (yes, that’s how you write about a Hawaiian place) which opened in Sharon Market, “Aloha”.

In Israel, if you said Hawaii, you said poki – here too you will find the beloved and familiar bowls (albeit in a slightly different way than what you have known so far, but more on that in a moment) – only that the specialty at “Aloha” is in traditional laborer dishes, so that you will feel like a real Hawaiian. The new place is managed by Amit Sidi, Itai Zerbiv and Bar Salzman, who also spent a long time in Hawaii and fell in love – how could he not – with everything the dreamy island has to offer, and decided to bring the abundance to Tel Aviv: poki, loko moko and other great fish dishes.

The puki served at Aloha proves to us that puki is not just another shipment from Walt that closes a corner when you want something healthy, nutritious and not too heavy on the pocket – but a dish that originates from a complete and glorious Hawaiian tradition, and here they give it respect. Aloha’s poki was formulated and assembled by a chef with a thorough knowledge of Hawaiian cuisine, and that’s how it deserves to be eaten (although the stubborn will be able to assemble dishes on their own from the place’s selection of raw materials, which includes fresh fish, vegetables, toppings and sauces).

In other words, Aloha’s menu offers four complex and pre-determined pokey dishes. For example, the Miss Salmon Poke dish, which contains salmon in miso, legumes, fresh avocado cubes, roasted beets, cucumber, candied pecans, crispy shallots and guma sauce (NIS 63). In addition, you will also find the Hawaiian mixed dish – the Go To dish of the residents of the island Beautiful in the world. This is a dish consisting of salmon, sea bream, sticky rice, mango, crunchy lettuce, fermented roasted peppers and Halifino vinaigrette sauce (NIS 59), a spicy and tangy dish, and without a doubt the official refresher of the summer, mainly thanks to the mango.

And as for the number of workers we promised you? Let’s get to know the hamburger of the workers of Hawaii, the loco moco. This is an everyday dish that is common in Hawaii, and contains all the nutrients, is delicious and completely closes the corner. Start with a bowl of properly seasoned stir-fried rice, a traditional loco moco sauce (a mixture of mushrooms and onions, cherry tomatoes, shallot rings and green onions) and for dessert – which is not dessert – a hearty hamburger patty, topped with an egg to complete the winning bite (NIS 58). This is a unique dish, the likes of which we have not yet tasted, and we remained satiated and satisfied until the last grain of rice.

Another dish we enjoyed is a kind of traditional Hawaiian tapas as well, it is crispy rice fingers with spicy tuna and green onions. (NIS 39) A great dish that leaves you wanting more. Apparently Hawaii knows what they are doing. So tell me Aloha to Aloha, put on some flower necklace and come enjoy a little trip to a remote island.
