It was already dark and the powerful beam of light from the Helimer, the Maritime Rescue Helicopter, began to attract the attention of the neighbors and those who were circulating this Tuesday in the Riazor area. And the alarm quickly went off, as many feared that a rescue was being carried out, that someone had disappeared or some other misfortune like the one years ago. However, and fortunately, everything remained in one false alarm.

As explained by Salvamento Martimo, the Helimer was, like many other times, carrying out exercises between the Punta Langosteira and Ares areas when it was required by the emergency teams. As they explained, an individual who was walking his dog in the San Roque cove area had alerted him that he saw an orange lump floating in the sea. Immediately the Helimer changed its course and headed to Riazor to check what it was about. After a couple of passes through the area they confirmed that It was not a body, but a pile of garbage.
