A strong magnetic storm began in the Earth’s magnetosphere. It happened on Sunday afternoon after a powerful solar flare.

However, the storm itself is weak. Its level is G1, as stated in the message on the website of the Laboratory of X-ray Astronomy of the Sun of the Physics Institute of the Academy of Sciences. The storm started at about 15:00. According to the forecast, it will last until the middle of Monday afternoon.

Astronomers have previously warned that the next two days are likely to be the strongest magnetic storms in the past few years. According to preliminary estimates of experts, the peak values ​​will correspond to magnetic storms of the third level on a five-point scale.
