The hospital found out about disputes, but not about intimidation with a weapon
A man threatened patients and doctors with a knife in the emergency department of “Pirogov” hospital in Sofia, an eyewitness to the incident says.
Ivan Dimitrov went to the emergency room of the hospital earlier today because of an injury to one of the fingers on his right hand. A friend of a patient with a palm injury appeared in front of the traumatology department, who was also waiting for his turn. According to Dimitrov’s description, he was large and visibly intoxicated.
“He got upset that his friend was waiting too long, knocked loudly on the office door, was opened and told it was his turn. The whole time you kept talking about what he was going to do to them all. He was constantly talking nonsense to the people who were passing by were medical staff. He asked her if he wanted to show her the knife. The woman signaled to the policeman to come and left,” says Dimitrov.
The knife had a blade of 15-20 cm. The man hid it under the top of his tracksuit.
“He continued to verbally attack those around him, including me for my ‘pedal’ pink pants and my ‘Arab’ beard. Apparently he would be happy for any provocation. We called security again, this time explaining how the dangalak threatens and insults people. This time they reacted and took him somewhere. However, we noticed that they had just moved him to the front desk. There would be no consequences for him for threatening medical personnel with a cold weapon measures, they just told each other that he is not causing too much trouble. As we passed by him, he, of course, continued to curse and threaten me,” Dimitrov also wrote.
He thanked the doctors from “Pirogov” who paid him the necessary attention and gave their best.
The hospital’s press center explained to “24 Chasa” that they only have information about a verbal confrontation between those waiting for the order and which case is more urgent, but not about threats with cold weapons.
