An incident occurred where a Japanese comedian who was participating in a marathon was sexually harassed by a spectator.

According to multiple Japanese media reports on the 6th, Yasuko (26), a famous Japanese comedian, was sexually harassed by an audience member while participating in the ’24-hour TV’ marathon held by Nippon TV.

If you look at the video of the moment, Yasuko was making a final sprint with about 400m left to go. At that moment, a middle-aged man wearing a white hat among the spectators cheering him on next to the marathon course reached out to Yasuko, and his hand touched Yasuko’s chest.

The official who was running right behind Yasuko immediately slapped the man’s hand away, and the man was caught smiling and pulling his arm away, causing even more public outrage. Yasuko’s eyes shook as if she was momentarily flustered. As the scene was broadcast live on TV, the man’s face was also clearly captured on camera.

It is not clear whether the man’s actions were intentional or accidental, but Japanese netizens are unanimous in saying that it was “sexual harassment.” In particular, the bottle containing white liquid that the man was holding in his other hand is also raising suspicions.

“The bottle’s cap is closed, but it appears to contain a white liquid,” a local outlet reported. “People online are speculating that it may be a baby bottle or lotion, but either way, it’s an odd item to be holding outside late at night.”

On the other hand, another media outlet speculated, “Maybe he was asking for a high five. He may have also tried to hand the white bottle to Yasuko.”

The majority of local netizens are urging the police to launch an investigation, saying, “He must be judged by the law,” “The police must identify the criminal and begin an investigation,” and “The perpetrator’s face has been revealed, so the police must find him and catch him.” They also demanded that the agency and broadcasting station take responsibility and respond accordingly.

Meanwhile, Yasuko, who grew up in an orphanage during her school days, participated in this marathon event to raise money for children’s facilities, and it is reported that 438 million yen (approximately 4 billion won) was raised. Yasuko left her comment saying, “I was able to finish safely thanks to everyone’s support.”
