A 46-year-old foreigner was arrested yesterday (Wednesday, November 1, 2023) in Rhodes, by patrolling police officers of the DIAS Team, against whom a case file was filed for transporting and facilitating the illegal trafficking of illegal immigrants.
In particular, yesterday at noon, the perpetrator transported and dropped off illegal immigrants in the center of the city of Rhodes in a rented vehicle.
Police officers from the DIAS Team, who were informed of the incident, immediately went to the scene and after searches located the vehicle, immobilized it and brought the driver to the Rhodes Security Sub-Directorate.
In the possession of the 46-year-old, two mobile phones and the sum of 415 euros were found and confiscated.
The arrested person will be taken to the District Court of Rhodes.
The arrest is part of the operational planning implementation of the General Regional Police Directorate of the South Aegean Region, to effectively prevent and deal with the trafficking of illegal immigrants.
